How to Know God’s Will in Your Life

Every day we make all kinds of different decisions in our walk with God. Whether its the websites we’re viewing, the music we’re listening to, or the church we attend, how do we find out which decisions are for our best interest?

The first thing you’ll want to do is in-depth research. Look into what the bible says about the topic you are be wondering about. The bible says in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” When you study your bible you’re getting to know God on a deeper level.

The more you understand about the topic you’re having difficulty with, the more likely you’ll be to make the best choice. Often times, research will bring you enough clarity to cross reference with your current circumstance to find the best solution. The practical aspect aside, God is spiritual and knowing his will for your life often comes through direct communication with him.

A lot of the time, God will use strong feelings or impressions to guide us, though he is not incapable of speaking vocally. A simple formula to feel out God’s will in your life is to first read and study about it, followed by diligent prayer, and finally taking action. It’s important to know that as Christians, God is always active and we have to be also.

One of the best ways to know God’s will in all situations throughout your every day life is to listen while you pray. Try to focus on a quiet heart and avoid saying too much, you just might be missing what God is trying to say. There have been many times I’ve been too busy and high strung to focus on real guidance from God, don’t miss out!
